A couple of years ago, I joined a pattern challenge and one of the prompts was “Wool.” I think the obvious subject for such a prompt would probably be some sheep however, I wanted to think outside the box a little so I chose a knitting pattern. I am no amazing knitter but I’ve made my fair share of scarves over the years and I thought it would be fun to draw some different elements associated with knitting and crafting.
I created a knitting pattern with the flowy feel of partially knitted scarves, unravelling yarn balls, knitted stockings and scissors mid-cut with, of course, a sprinkling of some fun buttons throughout! It gave me a joyful vibe (and as you know, that’s ALWAYS what I’m going for).
I took elements from the Knitter’s Delight hero print and decided to create Charming Buttons and Sewing Scissors print as well. For the third print, I decided to create an abstract curvy lines pattern taking inspiration from the lines of a yarn ball.
I decided to keep the color palette of this collection limited to hues of pinks and purples. The contrast lies in the deep purple and faint pink with a middle pink sprinkled in there. I feel they will go well together if used in a single project and can also be paired with complimentary color fabrics as well if that is your preference.
I designed this collection in the theme of knitting but the buttons and scissors and even the abstract curvy print will go well with any project themed around crafting.
Here are a few great ways to use the Knitter’s Delight Mini-Collection:
A Knitting Tote (that you carry your yarn and knitting needles in)
Knitting or Crafts-Themed Quilt
Craft Room Curtains or Chair Covers (specifically the scissors and buttons!)
Throw Pillows
T-shirts for craft clubs
Aprons for all of your crafting needs
Zipper Pouches for your Knitting Besties (great gifts!)
You can find this mini-collection in my Spoonflower shop available in fabrics, wallpaper and some great product options as well. Check out Knitter’s Delight here!
